It is temporary and will not last, a fling
Love doesn’t define who we are,
One’s self-worth should come from afar.
We worry whether we’re loved or not,
Will people we care for, stay in our comfort.
This is the illusion we live with every day,
Love isn’t forever, it is experiences, in our way.
Nothing is permanent, relationships change,
Feelings shift, we might feel strange.
Love is less about emotions within,
And more about what we attach in the skin.
Love is the final burden we must face,
To understand ourselves and find our place.
We are already complete, that’s the truth,
And connected to something bigger, know its worth.
True love isn’t about seeking outside,
It is to feel whole, and find it inside.
We think that if we find the right one,
Everything will fall into place, and life will be fun.
But happiness, validation, and peace,
No one power on it and it doesn’t come from others,
Love isn’t about needing someone to make us whole,
We already are, what we seek exists within our soul.
