My life went quiet, not out of fear,
But to the truths that I often hear.
Not all who smiles are on your side,
As some wear their jealousy like its pride.
It's not the strangers who are bold,
But those close by with hearts like polished gold.
They rarely are happy for us,
While standing in your winning cause.
Few ask with care but will not stay,
Just stories to twist and give away.
They watch our steps and note our tone,
But leave you crumbling all alone.
I once believed that trust and care was fair,
The truth is meaningful and loyalty was not there.
But I learned that some people only pretend,
With a smile, while waiting for your end.
So I now I speak little less,
I share no pain nor I post for guesses.
I guard my peace to protect my soul,
And through my silence I am making me whole.
