I Am What I Am!

In people’s vision, the characters I play,

Some like me and some turn away.

Some call me strong, and some say I’m weak,

In their eyes, I’m what they see and seek.

Some think I’m kind and some say I’m rude,

Some find me quiet, and some find me shrewd.

They look at my life and they judge my ways,

But no one knows how I lived my nights and days.

Some see in me a hero and some a villain,

I’m neither, just a simple soul trying to fill in.

In the process of life all that I’ve learned,

Through battles fought and bridges burned.

Some may want to live a life like mine,

Some hate to be in my shoes as they will whine.

But in their thoughts, I may not have any place,

For only I know the true me and I accept with grace

I have no authority over how others see,

I cannot control nor will I let it bother me.

What matters is the path I’ve chosen to walk,

With challenges that I faced like a hawk.

So, let them think and let them decide,

How I live and where I reside.

I belong to no one to define or to claim,

I am what I am, and that’s my name.
