Life Beyond Rewards

To follow, life doesn’t come with scripts,

Where good deeds gets gifts,

And bad deeds lead to bad effects..

Life isn’t that simple,

Truth is, it is unpredictable,

And at times it is too cruel.

Bad things happen to very good people,

And good things happen to bad, it’s mentally fatal,

Yet in doing good you are doing something meaningful.

People face hardships, even if they are kind & selfless,

While many thrive, who harm and manipulates,

Frustrating, unfair, and it is difficult to digest.

Doing good deeds are connected to this universe,

You can't expect a guaranteed return, it's a curse,

This defines who we are, in our life’s course.

Kindness, helping nature and positivity,

Don’t get rewards; as it's a meaningful life’s activity,

As we choose to be true to self, in a world of cruelty..

We do good not for a easy life in return,

As the world can be tough and unfair for one,

Kindness is what really matters, don’t shun.

In peoples struggle, goodness is what we’ve to spread,

Helping others to find strength, not for a reward,

Goodness isn’t immediate, but it is real and it’s all recorded.

Sometimes we see bad people to prosper,

But none knows what kind of life they suffer,

Selfishness & harm may bring gains that’ll not last forever.

So, even if good doesn’t always bring good

Be assured it still brings something priceless, it would,

Purpose, integrity, and a pure heart is often misunderstood.
