Thinking we matter, and are irreplaceable, we strive.
We play our unique part in this life's role.
Our presence isn't permanent, our absence isn't unbearable,
Time and time again, we have witnessed people move,
Our friends fade, ending with true stories of love.
And all the places that we once filled,
All its memories give us moments of chill.
We will be replaced in everybody's life,
Whatever roles we are currently in, grief.
Effortlessly our places taken by someone new,
And it feels like betrayal from the trusted few.
Our existence matters while it’s happening,
Imprints of love, we leave; often life changing.
All our words carried weight, no matter how deep,
Life does what it does, it goes on and none can keep.
People always heal with new relations,
The space we occupied, is filled by others' actions.
New friends, new people, nothing empty is left,
We break or liberate, it is hard, realization is must.
The world doesn't stop without our presence,
So do people, no one stops for us, no offence.
We too are the same, we’ve to dig our past, to realise,
For a lasting relationship, even we've made a promise.
