My Love Was A Dedication

I wait for her in silent nights,
Praying she is fine and feels alright.
I worry as she stays far away,
Though I stand lonely passing every day.

I write her name in every line,
Hoping one day she'll read and knows the love of mine
I give my heart that is pure and true,
But she never feels it like I do.

Was it love or just a game?
While I was proud to take her name.
I made her my whole world inside,
She kept me nowhere by her side.

I lost myself while loving her
Forgot who I was before.
She came like a lesson into my life,
Teaching me pain and strife.

She didn't break me in one day,
But slowly took my peace away.
Still my love had no expectation,
My love was a dedication.

I gave my world, I gave my time,
I crossed every single line.
Still it was never enough for her,
Not even a small piece of her heart to offer.

But her love was too high a price,
It cost me my soul, and it wasn't wise.
I loved her with full devotion,
But she never felt that emotion.
