When We Do Not Fit in

We smile when our heart is in pain,
We agree just to not lose gain,
We hide our truth deep inside,
And slowly lose our inner light.

We say yes when we want to say no,
We bend ourselves just to flow,
For people who never truly see,
The real and honest part of me.

We try to fit in every place,
We wear a fake and smiling face,
But inside there is silent cry,
Why do I always have to lie?

We wait for love, we wait for care,
But find only empty air,
We give and give without return,
And still inside we slowly burn.

But truth is calling from within,
To stop this endless race we’re in,
To choose ourselves, to stand and say,
I will not live just to obey.

Not all will see your real soul,
Not all will make you feel whole,
So stop pleasing, just be free,
And live your truth, and simply be.
