If My Words Had Hands

I placed my heart in her hands
Trusted she would protect it,
And will value the love I offered
Distraction and distance took over.

She gave priority for her feelings,
And thought my peace was an option.
Pleasing her was the happiest thing
I ever did but she never valued it.

My heart pains,
As there is lots of love for her.
And still it feels the loss of her
The pain and love stay as one.

I am not worried,
I couldn't make a place in her life.
But for the place she refused,
For me in her memories.

She will have many things to do,
And many people to meet in life.
But I am left only with one thing,
Loving her more and cherishing memories.

I wish my words had hands,
So every time she reads,
They stretch towards her,
And grabs her to hold her tight.
