The Nights and My Howl

I am not counting the days without her,
I am losing what is left in my days.
I had several reasons to leave,
Yet my love for her made me stay.

Even my own words could not carry,
The weight of my emotions.
I was focused on her warmth,
Ignoring that my peace was fading away.

Holding onto my love for her,
It is like holding onto a hot coal.
Each day it burns layer by layer,
Turning my heart slowly into ashes.

She treated my kindness like weakness,
And my softness is something to be ashamed of.
When hell failed to take me over,
It transformed into her and entered my life.

Her scars will always remain,
Yet she will never see the pain she caused.
She will never know the nights I cried,
Without telling anyone why I did.

These are wounds time cannot fully heal,
For the pain was inflicted by her.
She watched me break and stood still;
Did she find comfort in my suffering?
