What She Saw In Me

She gave me new sight,
A future painted in color.
When I wished to see it with her,
She left me blind.

When I saw her, my heart began to race,
Yet my mind was at peace.
My love was not perfect for her,
But it was true and real.

She saw a cage in my care,
While all I held for her was a shield.
Everytime I went near her,
To protect, she was rattled,

One day she will miss my heart,
Which bore her more than anyone.
She will hate herself,
For even she couldn't love her the way I did.

One day I spoke to her in anger,
Never knowing it could be the last.
I hoped it was just a phase,
Those things would become normal, but they didn't.

Has taken this bond.
Even when we are separated by distance,
Connection remains like the shine of the sun.
