Her Place in My Heart

I long to share in all her pain,
To be the shoulder when tears rain.
To wipe the sorrow from her eyes,
And guide her through life’s darkest skies.

She’ll stumble, as all humans do,
But I’ve chosen to love her, through and through.
Imperfect, yes, but whole in my sight,
Complicated with wounds, but still full of light.

Without her, my world turns cold,
Like an eclipse, where no sun unfolds.
Her thoughts, like shadows, steal my day,
Leaving me blind, lost in dismay.

My love for her stays, silent and deep,
But anger sometimes wakes from its sleep.
Yet, even in her pain I stand,
Trying to understand, lending a hand.

She’ll never know the dreams I keep,
Of her smile, where my sorrows sleep.
Her laughter, a cure, for all that’s wrong,
Her presence is where my heart belongs.

I’ll listen, without a word of blame,
Hold her close when the world feels the same.
And remind her, no matter how wild her thoughts may be,
Her place in my heart will always be free.
