I have won many battles against sharp swords,
but I failed before your eyes and sweet words.
They were the sharpest I had ever known,
with ease, I lost the war and was overthrown.
My heart was once an undefeated gold mine,
then I saw you, and joy filled my domain.
Now that you are gone, I am left with worry,
yet in my heart, forever lives your memory.
I made your image like a dream so pure,
but you broke my heart, and there is no cure.
You filled my life with love and light,
after you left, I was lost in the night.
I shaped you in my mind as someone divine,
but you ended up breaking every part of mine.
I began to need you more than I should have,
that need became a poison I couldn't be saved.
A heart no one was able to claim,
you came and lit a beautiful flame.
No weapons ever cut me this deep before
with just one look, you won the war.
