Truth is love never hurts,
we hurt ourselves in the name of love.
Our expectations hurts,
our fantasies does,
and above all the stories
we write in our minds.
Often we name love
for our deep attachments, to an illusion.
a future that is not real,
a version of someone,
who is imagery created in our mind,
than in real life.
And when we realise the reality,
we feel shattered.
No one can hurt us intentionally,
but only what we hold on too tightly,
something the universe never promised.
Some people unfold like a movie montage,
shared dinners, late-night calls,
trips, growing old together.
They may leave, or change,
or maybe they never lived up to the version,
created by our mind.
And the real pain begins here.
Attachment, always leads to suffering,
not because love is a trap,
but because our need to control the outcome is.
When we love people, we attach to outcomes
And we feel the staring
of our life is in our hands,
but when we realise it is not,
we fall apart,
when in reality it was control that is lost.
When in a relationship,
you do not have to prove,
we were worthy, wanted, enough.
Because when they leave or fail us,
it not only causes pain, but it collapses us.
When we make them our mirror,
their absence starts to feel
like a rejection of our identity.
We are here only to witness it all,
for we are not emotions,
attachments or the role we play.
when we love someone without expectations,
we allow them to be who they are,
not who we need them to be.
That’s where peace begins.
Do not love fantasy, not outcomes.
Let them in your heart,
but do not build identity inside theirs.
You do not make them stay,
for love should be grounded.
stop gripping the idea of forever
and start living the truth.
Let what stays, stay,
let what leaves, leave.
And if it hurts let it hurt.
But don’t confuse that hurt for love.
